The green turtle is large. It has a wide smooth shell. green turtles are among the largest sea turtles in the world. Green turtles can grow up to five feet. When born green turtles are only five centimeters (2 inches) long.When they are an adult they are 1.5 meters (5 feet) long. Hatchlings are dark brown almost black, underneath there flipper is white. Males are slightly larger then females because the males have a bigger tail than a females. Adult green turtles can weigh up to 240 - 420 pounds.

Green turtles eats insect,crustaceans, seagrass, and worms. The jaw of the green turtle is set to help them eat the primary food source. Audlt green turtles are herbivorous and juvenile green turtles are omnivores. Also juvenile green turtles eat invertebrates like jellyfish,crabs, and sponges.
. ReproductionGreen turtles must be at least ten before they can reproduce. Female green turtles only lay eggs every three or four years. To nest females often choose the same beach that there mother used to lay her eggs. So they leave the ocean and start to dig a hole in the sand with there flippers. A female lays 100 - 200 eggs than puts sand over the hole and goes back to the ocean. After about two months the hatchlings hatch. The most dangerous time of a green turtles life is leaving the nest and going to the sea, because so many things can get them.

Green turtles live about 100 years. Green turtles live in the bay and other places. The oldest green turtle was 400 years old.
